Oh Canada– Fire up the wiki it’s Canadian Idol’s Ryan Malcolm Bio.

Ryan Michael Malcolm (born October 13, 1979 in Kingston, Ontario) is a Canadian singer best known as winner of the first Canadian Idol. Ryan grew up in a small town just west of Kingston called Amherstview. The son of John and Sharron, Ryan had two older siblings, Kim and Sean. At the age of 9, Ryan’s parents split and John re-married. Throughout the 90’s, Ryan’s father owned and operated many restaurants, which in turn is where Ryan started singing.

In 2006, after spending 2 years writing songs, Ryan formed a new rock band, Low Level Flight. Teamed up with friends Shaun Noronha, James Rooke, Dave Carter and Brandon Merenick the band recorded their debut album with acclaimed producer Mike Borkosky (illScarlett). LLF released their first single, Change For Me, in February, 2007, and their debut record, Urgency, was released March 27, 2007, on I Heart Records (Ryan’s own label) with distribution by Fontana North.

WHY IS THE AWESOME MAN AWESOME?

Good Question. Well many of the Idols after World Idol became a part of screen plays or continue to create solo albums- Ryan didn’t. He started up his own rock band, and we know anything people of rock are truly awesome.

Peter Evrard (born October 19, 1974) is the winner of the first season of Idool 2003, the Belgian version of Pop Idol.

Evrard defied the traditional rules of the Idols series by singing punk rock music instead of the expected pop. Regardless, he managed to win the series, and in 2003 he placed third overall in the World Idol contest. Evrard lives and works in Beerse, Belgium. He is married and has 2 sons. One of his aspirations in life is that his sons grow up to be openminded people. He is the only one of the original 11 World Idols to lose their mother early in life.

This is the start of World Idol Week- because we are looking at all the idols that performed in the TV show.

For the last Awesome Person of the year we look at the incredibly talented Kurt Nilsen.

Before his singing persona, he was working as plumber and part time in a band. He tried out for Norwegian Idol and barely scraped the audition round. His popularity grew and grew. Then the underdog became king. He won the first Norwegian Idol. In 2003 he was entered into the World Idol. His odds were 20/1 to winning the competition but he did and one the whole thing.

First you have to relize that if someone can sing, well, their automatically awesome. Kurt has proved that singing every thing from Grunge to Country, Rock to Pop and that makes him a true awesome person. Thats it’s for me have a happy 2008
